What is it?
The Cockfighting
License is issued under the provision of The Prevention
of Cruelty to Animals (Cockfighting) (Amendment) Rules
1996 under The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Ordinance
1962. The license only permits the holders to host a cockfight
on the following occasions:

Antu (Soul Festival) |

Batu ( Wetstone Festival) |

Sabong
Lumbong (Special prayer at well-known tomb) |

Dayak (Harvest Festival) |

functions approved by the State Supreme Council |
Application for the license will be considered
by the Divisional Cockfighting License Issuing Committee
chaired by the Resident.
How to Apply?
- Obtain an application form free of charge at
the district office
- Fill the form in two (2) copies and submit them with following documents:

map of the cockfighting area |

Death
Certificate (for Gawai Antu - Sabong Lumbong) |

Prior
approval from the local community leader |
- Fee of RM50.00 will be charged
- The license must be returned to the Resident’s Office within
seven (7) days after the cockfighting has been held .
